About Community Care Centre Ballarat

Our Story

Community Care Centre Ballarat (CCCB) provides essential household goods—such as furniture and appliances—to individuals and families in need, helping them create safe and stable homes. Working with local welfare agencies, CCCB ensures that people facing difficult circumstances, such as those fleeing domestic violence or homelessness, receive the support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Driven by the collaborative efforts of all six Rotary clubs in Ballarat, the Centre is designed to meet a crucial need for material support among individuals facing crises across the region, with ambitions to expand services throughout Western Victoria.

The Centre was established in response to a gap identified by Rotary—a lack of a centralized, collaborative resource with sufficient warehouse space to collect and distribute donated goods for those in urgent need of furnishing a home following life-disrupting events. Previously, Ballarat and nearby towns lacked a single resource capable of providing coordinated material relief to these vulnerable groups.

The Community Care Centre is now equipped to provide items essential for setting up safe, stable homes, empowering individuals to regain security and independence.

By fostering this partnership, the Community Care Centre Ballarat exemplifies community-driven wellbeing and support, especially during these challenging financial times marked by high living costs. The Centre is expected to become a vital resource in Ballarat, setting a model for regional support that will benefit the community for years to come.
